A Brief Overview

Rocotech was founded in 1991 by Colin Thomas an ex Director of Walmore Electronics and prior to that Chief Engineer of the Applied Physics Division of GEC that specialised in Laser Systems. Initially the product range was restricted to Optics, Cryogenics and Acousto Optics Products.

The main objective of the Company today is the same as it was then which is to provide a high level of local technical and commercial support for the products of its suppliers so that customers can buy them with confidence.

In 2001 Rocotech International Ltd was formed reflecting the fact that the company no longer restricted its customer base to the UK but has also extended it across Europe for several of its suppliers.

Today the Company's product range also includes a broad range of lasers, silicon and InGaAs detectors and fibre coupled array spectrometers as well as its original products.

Rocotech represents many leading electro-optics companies including four Thales companies in Optics and Cryogenic Coolers and state of the art companies such as Lightpath Technologies, B & W Tek, AME and Brimrose. For more information and links to their web pages, visit our Suppliers section.

Our Working Philosophy

Primarily we work as a 'suppliers representative' only acting as a Distributor for companies such as Lightpath Technologies and Brimrose who have a standard range of catalogue products.This means that we have lower overheads and are able to keep our prices competitive. Orders for most products are placed directly from you - the customer - to our suppliers. It also enables our customers to deal directly with our pricipals, should they need to when detailed technical, or custom application issues need discussing.

Key Staff

Our technical staff are all degree qualified and have many years experience of both fibre optics and electro-optics. Our office staff possess a range of secretarial, marketing and sales skills.
